Find Your Possibilities

When you retire in midlife, it feels like relief, a breath of fresh air. It’s literally a time to breathe, sigh and smile. You made it to this wonderful reward, finally after years of working and waiting.

At first, it can feel like a nice long holiday. Ahhhh. But, one morning you wake up and realize that you have energy to get going on something. But what?

It seems like everyone around you is busy. You want to be busy too with something you feel truly passionate about, that matters to you. But, you also want flexibility and a healthy work/life balance, now that you know how good it feels to have that freedom.

Maybe you have an idea of what’s next. Maybe it’s a jumbled bunch of possibilities. Maybe you have no clue.  That’s ok.

The door of possibilities is there. It’s time.

The Process

Over the next 3 months or so, you work through a series of activities and reflections which are supported by bi-weekly coaching sessions. We use ideas backed by the research in positive psychology to help you explore what is most meaningful to you, and to assess your happiness gap.

It can be surprising to discover which values are important to you now. You will work on activities to clarify your values. Then the decisions that you make about your future will be based on your core values and authentically reflect you.

To help ensure that your next calling feeds you rather than drains you, you will reflect on your strengths and abilities using a skills/strengths exercise. At each stage of this process, there is ample time in the sessions to explore your discoveries.

We reconnect you with joys from your younger years in memoir activities. As new paths start to emerge, we work together to evaluate them, and look at possible outcomes.

Once you’ve made a decision on a new direction, I support you enthusiastically as you gather information and resources. As you start planning for your first steps, I partner with you in identifying and solving problems and hiccups along the way. We look for a community that can be your new colleagues and support you in your new calling.

By choosing coaching, you’re not letting life just happen to you. You’re making an intentional commitment to thrive. It’s a plan.

If this approach sounds like a good fit for you, let’s chat. I’d love to work with you.
